VDL Bus & Coach delivers 25 Citeas to Transdev Sverige

In June 2016, VDL Bus & Coach delivered 23 VDL Citeas LLE to Transdev Sverige. These were the very first VDL Citeas LLE 3-door version to be delivered to Sweden since their introduction at Busworld 2015. The last 2 of the total order of 25 VDL Citeas LLE 3-door version will be delivered in August. All the Citeas LLE will be put in service in the city of Umeå, the largest city in northern Sweden. Umeå is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe and was even named European Capital of Culture in 2014. The city is also known as the ‘birch city’, because of its many birch-lined avenues. Stickered with a birch leaf motif, the VDL buses blend in perfectly on the streets of vibrant Umeå.

VDL Citea LLE 3-door version
The 25 VDL Citeas Light Low Entry are optimally adapted to meet the needs of Transdev Sverige. These Citeas LLE-120 have been built with a 1-2-1 door configuration, 38+1 seating arrangement, room for 44 standing passengers and one wheelchair space. Additionally, the buses are outfitted with a ‘Nordic Pack’, which includes extra insulation and heating to cater to the cold climate in Sweden. The low floor construction at the entry and exit doors provides optimal accessibility for wheelchair users and passengers with baby buggies. The 3-door version provides an even greater range of deployment options. The Citea Light Low Entry is a true lightweight champion. One of the most important benefits of the exceptionally low kerb weight is significantly lower fuel consumption than conventional buses. This not only results in a considerable reduction of harmful emissions but lower operating costs as well. Add to that the long service life of the Citea and the result is maximum 'Profit of Ownership'.
